About

We find the claim. Specialists deliver it.

Thom Tax exists to answer one question quickly: is there a capital allowances claim sitting in your commercial property, and is it worth pursuing?

An empty modern British office floor with natural light and exposed services overhead

Capital allowances on commercial property are worth real money and almost nobody claims them properly. The relief is not obscure and it is not aggressive. It is written into the tax code. The reason it goes unclaimed is that finding it takes a surveyor walking a building and valuing what is inside it, and that work sits in the gap between what an accountant does and what a valuer does.

Our part is the front end. We ask enough about the property to establish whether a claim is likely, what kind of expenditure is involved, and whether the rules allow it. That takes a few minutes and costs nothing. If the answer is no, we say so and you get your time back.

Where there is something worth pursuing, we introduce you to CapEx, who are capital allowances specialists. They carry out the survey, build the claim and deal with HMRC. We are not pretending to do that work ourselves, and we would rather be straight about the split than dress it up.

The reason this arrangement exists is simple enough. Specialists are good at claims and less interested in finding the people who need them. That part we can do.

How it runs

01

You answer a few questions

What the property is, what you spent, when, and whether anyone has looked at allowances before. Nothing that needs paperwork in front of you.

02

We tell you either way

If the property does not qualify, that is the end of it and you have lost five minutes. We are not interested in passing on enquiries that waste everyone's afternoon.

03

Specialists take it from there

Where there is a claim worth making, CapEx pick it up and contact you within one working day. Survey, valuation, claim, HMRC.

Start with the property.

A few questions is all it takes to know whether this is worth your time.
